The goal of this project was to improve the clarity of OneDrive’s sync status and increase overall Desktop engagement. The Activity Center is a hub for file information and a quick way to access actions, account info, and settings.
Interaction highlights of the Activity Center include in-progress information on syncing files, on-item commanding, and a messaging surface where important information or upsells can be displayed. This all contributes to user confidence in the system and provides clarity on the state of their files.
To create an extensible system across PC and Mac, the look and feel of the overall brand was retained, while common system elements from each operating system were utilized. This helped create a sense of familiarity for users on both platforms.
